Blog 1 of my ‘Parenting, 6 months in’ series is: my favourite things so far. I tried to keep this to 1 thing but in the end I’ve picked two. I’m not using things like when he was born, first cuddles, etc. for this series, I’m thinking more along the lines of day to day stuff that just brings a smile to my face.
I think when the bairn was younger (I say younger, he’s only 6 months old but you get what I mean) it was those sleepy, post-bottle cuddles with a milk-drunk face. He’d have his bottle and fall asleep in my arms with a little grin on his face. Seriously, it was just too cute. No matter how tired I felt, how much of a pain he’d been or how out of my depth I was feeling every single time he fell asleep on me with that content little face it was just amazing.
More recently though, the bairn has started has started to recognise me and get excited when I come in from work. This normally falls right in the middle of his tea which makes me a massive distraction but who wouldn’t love legs swinging, face smiling and high chair banging when he sees me walk in to the kitchen.
So there they are, my 2 favourite things about parenting so far. I’d love to hear what yours are, let me know in the comments below.
